Purpose. The aim of this research is to justify conceptual and methodological approaches to managing the intellectual property potential of enterprises, taking into account the principles of sustainable development.
Results. The article examines approaches to managing the intellectual property potential of enterprises with a focus on the principles of sustainable development; we assessed and analyzed the level of intellectual property potential of innovatively active enterprises in Ukraine. The methodological and methodical developments presented in the work contribute to improving the system of managing intellectual property potential. As a result of the research, the concept of “the intellectual property potential” has been developed, and the classification and principles of managing the intellectual property potential of an industrial enterprise have been improved. Factors influencing its formation and use is grouped. A structural-analytical model for improving the management of intellectual property potential is proposed, as well as a method for analyzing the dynamics of its formation and utilization in an industrial enterprise.
Scientific novelty. The essence of the concept of “intellectual property potential of an industrial enterprise” is clarified – a set of opportunities that arise as a result of the creation, development and use of intellectual property objects (such as inventions, trademarks, copyrights, patents, etc.) in order to ensure competitiveness, innovative and sustainable development of the organization or enterprise. This potential includes not only legal rights to intellectual property objects but also opportunities for their commercial use, exchange, licensing, and other strategic aspects aimed at maximizing the value of these objects for the enterprise. Furthermore, approaches to managing the intellectual property potential of an enterprise have been delineated on a systemic-functional basis.
Practical value. The identified approaches to managing the intellectual property potential of an industrial enterprise can be applied to establish goals for the formation and development of intellectual property potential, organize measures for its practical use, motivate employees of the enterprise to develop and implement intellectual property potential, and develop mechanisms for controlling and regulating this potential.
