Comprehensive assessment of the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises of various sizes

Purpose. The purpose of the study is to assess the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in the region (on the example of Kharkiv region) by groups of business entities, in particular, to analyse the impact of indicators of process management efficiency, financial stability and product sales on the performance of enterprises of different sizes.
Results. The article provides a comprehensive assessment of the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in Kharkiv region, grouped by size criteria in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. Taking into account grouping and correlation analysis, three multivariate linear regression models of competitiveness are developed for each group of agricultural enterprises of different sizes. The key factors that influence the competitiveness of enterprises, in particular, capital productivity, profitability, solvency and market share, are identified. The differences in performance indicators between large, medium, small and micro enterprises are determined. Recommendations for optimising management decisions aimed at improving the efficiency of enterprises in each group are developed.
Scientific novelty. For the first time, a structured assessment of the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in the Kharkiv region was carried out, taking into account their size and financial characteristics, and their functioning under martial law. An approach to the classification of enterprises is proposed and specific factors affecting the efficiency of each group are identified. The necessity of improving management processes to enhance the competitive advantages of small and micro enterprises is substantiated.
Practical value. The results of the study can be used to formulate regional strategies for the development of the agricultural sector, in particular by improving the efficiency of resource management and product marketing. The proposed recommendations will help to optimise the activities of enterprises of different sizes and strengthen their competitive position both in the domestic and foreign markets.
