Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of this study is to substantiate the process of implementing a stakeholder approach in the strategy of sustainable development of tourism enterprises, as well as to identify the main stages and methods of its implementation.

Results. This study considers the key phases involved in implementing a stakeholder-oriented approach, encompassing stakeholder identification, analysis of their interests and influence, strategic planning, and the subsequent monitoring and evaluation of outcomes. Particular emphasis is placed on the significance of customised communication strategies, stakeholder mapping methodologies, and collaborative frameworks in integrating stakeholder priorities into decision-making processes. The findings highlight the necessity of fostering transparency, promoting innovation, and reinforcing environmental responsibility. Additionally, the study underscores the potential of digital tools and public-private partnerships in enhancing operational efficiency and organisational adaptability.

Scientific novelty. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the stakeholder method in the context of tourism, offering a systematic approach for integrating stakeholder engagement within sustainable development strategies. The study illuminates the dynamics between stakeholders and business longevity, contributing to a nuanced understanding of stakeholder engagement in sustainable tourism development. Furthermore, it underscores the critical role of stakeholder collaboration in achieving long-term competitiveness within the tourism sector.

Practical value. The findings offer tourism enterprises a practical roadmap for integrating stakeholder-centric strategies into their operational and strategic frameworks. By aligning business objectives with stakeholder expectations, enterprises can build trust, foster resilience, and enhance their capacity to adapt to shifting market demands and external challenges. The proposed recommendations are particularly relevant for enterprises operating in transitional economies or regions experiencing economic and environmental pressures, providing them with tools to navigate complexities and ensure sustainable growth.
