The system of ensuring the efficiency of agricultural enterprises as an element of sustainable development

Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the research is to generalise and provide further development of the theoretical and methodological principles of ensuring the efficiency of agricultural enterprises.

Results. The article determines that ensuring the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise is an important prerequisite for the development of the country’s economy and the formation of its food security. The concept of ensuring the efficiency of an activity is proposed to be understood as a purposeful process of influence of different levels subjects of management on objects of management (business processes of the enterprise’s functioning) in order to achieve target parameters of the functioning and development of the enterprise in the process of implementing its strategic and tactical goals. The key characteristics of the system of ensuring the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise are determined. The article proposes a structure of the system of ensuring the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise, the main elements of which are the organisational and methodological subsystems, the support subsystem. The composition of each subsystem is described in detail in terms of their respective components. The organisational subsystem includes subjects and objects of management, the goal, and tasks of management. The methodological subsystem is represented by a set of principles, functions, and methods of management. The support subsystem contains regulatory, organisational, personnel, financial, information and analytical components. The key factors of influence on the formation of the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise are identified.

Scientific novelty. The scientific principles of the system of ensuring the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise have been improved, which, unlike existing approaches, provide for the clarification of the tasks, principles, and functions of its implementation, which makes it possible to implement a holistic and systematic approach to managing the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise.

Practical value. The practical value is determined by the role of agricultural enterprises in the country’s economy and in the sphere of ensuring food security. The principles of forming a system for ensuring the efficiency of an agricultural enterprise considered in the article shape the trajectory of management in this area.
